Integrity Hour Held for Students

In September 2026, the teaching staff of the Department of History of Kazakhstan and Social Sciences held an educational session entitled “Integrity Hour” for first- and second-year students.
The purpose of the event was to promote students’ understanding of the importance of academic integrity, integrity and anti-corruption culture, as well as to provide guidance on maintaining principles of honesty and responsibility in the educational process.
During the event, students were informed about the systematic work carried out at South Kazakhstan Medical Academy to prevent corruption and ensure compliance with the principles of academic integrity. It was also noted that this area is coordinated by Compliance Officer Nurgali Alikhanovich Pernebayev.
Particular attention was paid to the prevention of corruption, the inadmissibility of giving or receiving bribes, the improper use of official opportunities for personal purposes, compliance with academic integrity requirements, and the importance of not remaining indifferent to unlawful actions.
The students were also introduced to the key principles of academic integrity, including honest completion of examinations and assessments, prevention of plagiarism, prohibition of unauthorized use of other people’s work, fair assessment of learning outcomes, and responsible conduct.
At the end of the event, students asked questions and exchanged views on preventing corruption risks, complying with academic integrity requirements, and understanding legal responsibility.
In conclusion, it was emphasized that honesty and integrity are not only requirements of the educational process but also important components of the professional ethics and civic responsibility of future specialists. The event contributed to strengthening students’ legal and anti-corruption culture, promoting the values of academic integrity, and developing a responsible civic attitude.
