Within the framework of the academic mobility program, the Department of Pharmacology, Pharmacotherapy, and Clinical Pharmacology was visited from February 2 to February 13, 2026, by Raikhan E. Tuleutayeva, Candidate of Medical Sciences and Professor of the RAE (Semey Medical University). Her distinguished professional status is underscored by her membership on the editorial board of the international journal “Heart, Vessels and Transplantation” and her role on the Board of Directors of the Coalition for Rational and Safe Use of Medicines (CoRSUM).
During her visit, Professor Tuleutayeva conducted a series of in-depth educational sessions addressing the most critical issues in modern medicine. The curriculum covered lectures and practical training for 5th-year "Medicine" students in the discipline of Clinical Pharmacology. A special emphasis was placed on the fundamental aspects of rational pharmacotherapy and the detailed analysis of drug safety, including the study of adverse drug reactions and complex drug-drug interactions. Particular attention was paid to the specifics of using antibacterial and anti-inflammatory drugs amidst the global challenges of antimicrobial resistance.

The visit extended beyond the academy walls: physicians from the Regional Oncology Center and the "Sauzhurek" Medical Center also underwent training. An expert review of rational antibiotic therapy allowed specialists to discuss the integration of safe medication use principles into their daily clinical practice.
Furthermore, a round table was held in collaboration with the SKMA Department of Therapy and Cardiology, led by Associate Professor G.K. Assanova. The event brought together students and residents from SKMA and IKITU, along with clinical faculty members and practicing physicians. The program, hosted by the Department of Pharmacology, Pharmacotherapy, and Clinical Pharmacology, featured an integration seminar titled "Clinical Analysis of Comorbid Patients" and a master class on "Drug Dosage Adjustment in Patients with Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD)." These educational sessions were designed to enhance participants' competencies in rational and safe pharmacotherapy. Overall, the visiting fellowship contributed to strengthening scientific ties between the universities and implementing the principles of effective medication use into real-world clinical practice.
