Modern Methods of Diagnosing and Treating ARVI and Influenza

Currently, respiratory viral infections, especially acute respiratory viral infections (ARVI) and influenza, are among the most widespread infectious diseases in society. During seasonal outbreaks, their incidence increases, placing a significant burden on the public healthcare system.
In this regard, on December 9, 2025, the Head of the Department of Family Medicine, Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor Kauyzbai Zhumaly Aripbaiuly delivered an educational lecture titled “Modern Methods of Diagnosing and Treating ARVI and Influenza” at City Polyclinics No.1 and No.8 in Shymkent. The main goal of the lecture was to deepen doctors’ clinical reasoning skills, strengthen the use of evidence-based treatment approaches, and prevent excessive or ineffective treatment practices.

During the lecture, specialists were provided with explanations of important questions that frequently arise in clinical practice, and updates in current treatment protocols were reviewed. Zhumaly Aripbaiuly provided extensive information about the main pathogens of ARVI and influenza, mechanisms of transmission, and the course of the diseases. Special attention was also given to modern diagnostic methods and effective treatment strategies.
One of the key parts of the lecture was emphasizing the importance of annual influenza vaccination. Based on scientific evidence, the high effectiveness of vaccination in preventing severe disease, complications, and mortality was highlighted.
At the end of the event, physicians asked questions regarding common issues they encounter in practice, exchanged opinions, and engaged in a useful professional discussion. Participants highly appreciated the content and relevance of the lecture, noting its significant role in helping clarify treatment strategies in accordance with current clinical protocols.
Enhancing the professional competence of healthcare workers in combating seasonal ARVI and influenza is an essential mechanism for protecting public health.
