
Senior lecturer of the Department of Hygiene and Epidemiology, Master’s degree holder Zh.B. Zhaksybayeva conducted an open practical lesson in the course “Hygiene and Epidemiology” for group VM-PQA-01-23 on the topic “The Impact of Water Quality on Human Health”.
The open lesson was attended by the Head of the Academic Methodological Council of the Academy B.M. Rasheva, Head of the Department – PhD D.M. Kulmirzayeva, and Acting Associate Professor S.U. Yeskerova.
The open practical lesson started on time according to the schedule and was conducted using the methodological guidelines developed for open lessons.
During the lesson, the instructor introduced the topic and objectives of the class, as well as the physiological, hygienic, and epidemiological importance of water as one of the main environmental factors. The scientific aspects of water quality impact on the human body, causes of water pollution, and prevention methods were also analyzed.
To assess students’ knowledge, a Q&A session was conducted, during which students presented their presentations using an interactive touchscreen and answered questions about key water quality indicators and their effects on human health. Students also carried out a laboratory work on determining the organoleptic properties of water.
In group work, students completed tasks by matching images on posters and sharing their ideas. To monitor learning outcomes, a Kahoot quiz was conducted. A thematic discussion was also held, including water-related tongue twisters and proverbs in an interactive format At the end of the lesson, situational tasks were given, which demonstrated that students had successfully mastered the topic.
The lesson concluded with summarizing the key points. The Head of the Methodological Council, B.M. Rasheva, noted that the open lesson conducted by Senior Lecturer Zh.B. Zhaksybayeva was held at a very high level.
