Our students became prize winners

On April 29–30, 2026, students of the Faculty of Dentistry of the South Kazakhstan Medical Academy took part in the 78th International Scientific and Practical Conference of Students and Young Scientists “Current Issues of Modern Medicine and Pharmacy,” held at the Vitebsk State Order of Peoples’ Friendship Medical University (Republic of Belarus).
The conference was held in an in-person format, and on April 29, scientific papers and presentations were delivered during sectional sessions.
Representing the South Kazakhstan Medical Academy, Dentistry student Kamalov E.E. presented a report titled “Immunological mechanisms of dental implant rejection and their role in the development of peri-implantitis.”
As a result of his presentation, Kamalov E.E. won 1st place, demonstrating a high level of scientific training and the relevance of the chosen topic.
In addition, 5th-year student Yermekbayev Alovbek Azatbekovich presented a research paper titled “Modern scaffolds for guided bone regeneration: significance in prosthetic dentistry.”
Scientific supervisor — Candidate of Medical Sciences, Acting Associate Professor Shukparov A.B. The work was carried out at the South Kazakhstan Medical Academy in collaboration with the Department of Dentistry of the Siberian State Medical University (Tomsk, Russia).
According to the conference results, Yermekbayev A.A. was awarded a 2nd degree diploma.
The curator of students’ research activities was Barieva Mumina Kakhramonovna, assistant of the department and 2nd-year PhD student at the Siberian State Medical University.
The preparation of participants was carried out with the active involvement of the department staff, which made it possible to achieve high results and present the academy at an international level.
