Participation in the International Literary and Poetry Competition  “Literature Unites the World”

On April 9, 2026, 12 international students from the 1st to 5th years of South Kazakhstan Medical Academy, under the supervision of the Head of the Department of Hygiene and Epidemiology, PhD, ass.professor D.M. Kulmirzayeva, participated in the International Literary and Poetry Competition “Literature Unites the World,” held at the A. Pushkin City Universal Library in Shymkent.
The event was organized with the support of the Department of Culture, Language Development and Archives of Shymkent, as well as the Department of Education of Shymkent.
As part of the competition, the students presented literary works in English, Urdu, Hindi, and Kazakh, demonstrating a high level of expressive reading, language proficiency, and intercultural communication skills.
Out of 435 participants, Khan Tehreem (group ВМ-МША-12-23) advanced to the second stage of the competition. During the first stage, the student expressively recited Abai Kunanbayev’s poem «Әсемпаз болма әрнеге» in the Kazakh language. In the second stage, held on April 28, 2026, she presented an excerpt from Bollywood films in Hindi — “Zindagi Ka Ped” (“The Tree of Life”).
On May 13, the award ceremony for the winners of the second round took place. Out of 91 participants, 17 received various nominations, including Khan Tehreem.


For active participation and an outstanding performance in the International Literary and Poetry Competition, Tehreem Khan was awarded a diploma in the “Special Prize” nomination along with a commemorative gift. The student’s supervisor, D.M. Kulmirzayeva, was awarded a letter of appreciation for her contribution to preparing a talented student and for active involvement in organizing the competition.
