Prevention of drug addiction and ludomania

The Department of Pharmaceutical and Toxicological Chemistry, together with the Republican State Enterprise “Center for Forensic Expertise” of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan, namely the Institute of Forensic Expertise in Shymkent, organized an informational and explanatory meeting for students with the participation of lawyer Derbisov Samat Khabibullaevich and forensic chemist-expert Makhmudov Atkhambek Akralovich. The purpose of the event was to promote a healthy lifestyle among students and to prevent such pressing social issues as drug addiction and gambling addiction (ludomania). During the meeting, specialists provided comprehensive information about the harmful effects of narcotic substances on human health, psychological state, and social life. In addition, the negative impact of gambling addiction on a person’s life, financial situation, and family values was thoroughly explained.

The discussion focused on preventing harmful habits among young people, making responsible life choices, and developing a sense of accountability. The speakers emphasized the importance of effectively using free time, engaging in sports, and focusing on spiritual and intellectual development as positive habits.

During the event, students actively asked questions of interest and engaged in an open discussion with the invited specialists. Such meetings are an important step in improving the legal and psychological literacy of young people, preventing addictive behaviors, and shaping a conscious and responsible generation in society.
