Republican Scientific and Practical Conference “A Complex Patient with Gastrointestinal Pathology: Solutions at the Intersection of Specialties”

On April 3, 2026, in Shymkent, in the main conference hall of South Kazakhstan Medical Academy, a Republican scientific and practical conference was held on the topic: “A Complex Patient with Gastrointestinal Pathology: Solutions at the Intersection of Specialties.”
The event was organized by the Department of General Practice–2 of South Kazakhstan Medical Academy in collaboration with the GastroMed Medical Center.
The conference was aimed at discussing актуальные issues of diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with gastrointestinal diseases requiring a multidisciplinary approach. Particular attention was paid to the interaction between specialists of various profiles — general practitioners, gastroenterologists, infectious disease specialists, surgeons, and others — in managing complex clinical cases, as well as to patient management strategies at the primary healthcare level.
The conference was opened by the Rector of South Kazakhstan Medical Academy — Zhanna Serikzhanovna Seitjanova, who emphasized the importance of holding such scientific events in modern medicine.
Welcoming remarks and presentations were also delivered by Head of the Department of General Practice–2, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Gulzhan Nurbekovna Dosybayeva, who highlighted the relevance of the conference topic for primary healthcare, and President of the GastroMed Medical Center, Lyazzat Ishanbekovna Syzdykova, who emphasized the importance of close cooperation between clinical practice and academic science.

The conference was attended by: Chief freelance hepatologist of the Shymkent City Health Department, Candidate of Medical Sciences Rsalieva Zh.M.; Chief freelance gastroenterologist of the Turkestan region Kurmangalieva A.K.; Chairperson of the Public Foundation “Kazakh Scientific Society for the Study of Intestinal Diseases,” Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor Kaibullayeva D.A.; Head of the Specialized IBD Center in Almaty Musatayev I.M.; Deputy Head for Surgery of the Regional Clinical Hospital in Shymkent, PhD, Associate Professor Doskhanov M.O.; specialists of the National Scientific Medical Center (Astana); specialists of the GastroMed Medical Center; practicing physicians from Shymkent and districts of the Turkestan region; faculty members of medical universities; interns of the Department of General Practice–2; and residents.
During the conference, presentations were delivered on актуальные issues in gastroenterology, modern approaches to the diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal diseases, analysis of complex clinical cases, comorbidity, infectious pathology, surgical aspects, and patient management strategies at the primary healthcare level.
The conference received high appreciation from practicing healthcare professionals, who noted the strong practical value of the presented materials, the relevance of the discussed issues, and the need for further development of interdisciplinary collaboration in healthcare.
