Round Table on the Topic “A Happy Family – A Happy Country”

On September 11, 2026, a round table on the topic “A Happy Family – A Happy Country” was organized and conducted by A.B. Turmatova, a lecturer of the Department of History of Kazakhstan and Social Sciences, for first-year students of the “Dentistry” educational program.
The main objective of the event was to develop students’ understanding of the role of the family in society, promote family values, foster a culture of mutual respect and responsibility, and raise awareness of the relationship between family well-being and the sustainable development of society.
The round table was attended by Zhanat Oralbaikyzy Nurzhanbayeva, Head of the Department of History of Kazakhstan and Social Sciences, and Dinara Bakhytbekkyzy Espenbetova, a psychologist at South Kazakhstan Medical Academy. The participants shared their views and emphasized the importance of mutual understanding, respect, responsibility, and psychological support within the family.
During the event, the students discussed the concept of “Tolyk Adam” (“The Complete Person”) developed by the great Kazakh thinker Abai Kunanbaiuly. Particular attention was paid to the principles of morality, responsibility, diligence, and kindness, as well as their significance for family upbringing and modern society. The participants actively expressed their opinions, asked questions, and exchanged views in an open dialogue format.
As part of the cultural program, the students performed traditional Kazakh songs and musical compositions on national instruments, demonstrating their respect for national art and cultural heritage. Through music and singing, particular emphasis was placed on promoting national values, developing young people’s creative abilities, and increasing their interest in national culture.
The round table contributed to strengthening students’ responsibility for preserving and promoting family values, developing moral qualities, and understanding that a strong and prosperous family is the foundation of a stable, harmonious, and happy society.
