An educational event in the format of a round table was organized by G.S. Aidarbekova, Acting Associate Professor of the Department of “History of Kazakhstan and Social and Public Disciplines,” together with members of the “Parasat” club. The event was held on the topics: “The Future of Independent Kazakhstan is in the Hands of the Younger Generation!” and “Civil Rights and Responsibilities.” The purpose of the event was to develop students’ civic awareness, increase their level of legal literacy, foster self-governance skills, deepen their understanding of the role of youth in the country’s development, and strengthen their sense of civic responsibility and patriotism. During the round table, students were comprehensively introduced to the concept of civil society, the importance of an active civic position, and the role of young people in shaping the future of the country. Within the framework of the topic “Civil Rights and Responsibilities,” the fundamental rights and legal obligations of citizens, based on the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, were explained. The relationship between rights and responsibilities was illustrated with specific examples. It was particularly emphasized that observing the law, respecting public order, and faithfully serving the Motherland are the duties of every citizen. The event was relevant and effective from both educational and informational perspectives. Students’ legal literacy improved, and their interest in student self-governance activities increased. The department plans to continue organizing systematic events in this direction, including meetings and training sessions aimed at developing civic and legal culture.
