
On March 18, 2026, the Department of History of Kazakhstan and Social Sciences, together with first-year students of the Dentistry program, held a roundtable on the topic “National Clothing – The Face of the Nation”, dedicated to the holiday “National Clothing Day.”
Purpose: to promote the historical and cultural significance of national clothing, to popularize the traditions and spiritual values of the Kazakh people, to develop students’ national identity, and to foster patriotism. In addition, the event aimed to increase young people’s interest in cultural heritage by introducing the unique features of national attire.
During the round table, students discussed various types of traditional Kazakh clothing, their characteristics, and symbolic meanings. They also shared their views on the role and importance of national clothing in modern society.
As part of the event, national songs and traditional instrumental pieces (kui) were performed. In particular, student Yerseit Kuzhabergen from group VM-SҚқA-02-25 performed the kui “Kөroğlu,” receiving warm appreciation from the audience.
In conclusion, the event contributed to strengthening students’ respect for national values and expanding their cultural and spiritual awareness. Promoting national clothing and art helps foster patriotism among young people and deepens their interest in the heritage of their ancestors.
