Scientific and Practical Conference

On May 15, 2026, the International Scientific and Practical Conference “Occupational Medicine, Hygiene and Public Health: Modern Challenges and Prevention” was held at Marat Ospanov West Kazakhstan Medical University in Aktobe. The conference was organized by the Ministry of Healthcare of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Marat Ospanov West Kazakhstan Medical University, the National Center for Occupational Hygiene and Occupational Diseases, the Kazakh Academy of Nutrition, and other organizations.
The conference included plenary and sectional sessions dedicated to current issues in occupational medicine, professional pathology, public health, environmental hygiene, nutrition science, and epidemiology. Leading scientists and specialists from Kazakhstan, Russia, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Poland, and other countries took part in the event.
Special attention was paid to occupational health protection, environmental risk factors, prevention of occupational diseases, nutrition, and healthy aging. The presented reports and master classes contributed to the exchange of international experience, strengthening scientific cooperation, and discussing modern approaches to preventive medicine.
Representing South Kazakhstan Medical Academy, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, Chief Freelance Occupational Pathologist of Shymkent, Head of the Department of General Practice-2 Gulzhan Nurbekovna Dosybayeva delivered presentations entitled “Occupational Pathology and Population Aging: Modern Challenges and Forecast” and “Chronic Lead Intoxication as an Actual Public Health Problem in an Industrial Region (Based on the Example of Shymkent City).” Following the conference, a resolution was adopted aimed at further development of scientific research and interdisciplinary cooperation in the fields of occupational medicine, hygiene, and public health.
