SKMA on the International Scientific Platform: Academic Mobility and Success at the XIX Congress in Moscow

From February 09 to 20, 2026, Ainur Nysanbekovna Karabayeva, a 3rd-year PhD student of the Educational Program “Pharmacy” at South Kazakhstan Medical Academy (SKMA), completed an academic mobility program at the Research Center of LLC “Center of Pharmaceutical Analytics” (Moscow, Russian Federation). The program was implemented in a hybrid format (online and on-site training).
The internship program focused on an in-depth study of GxP principles, including GMP and GLP requirements within the life cycle of a medicinal product, regulatory architecture (ICH, EMA, EAEU), organization of an analytical laboratory, sample preparation and method validation, investigation of OOS and OOT results, as well as practical implementation of analytical procedures (HPLC and UV spectrophotometry). Particular attention was given to the role of the analyst within GMP/GLP inspection and audit systems.

During the on-site stage of the mobility program, the PhD student participated in the XIX Congress “Development and Registration of Medicinal Products”, held on February 17-18, 2026, at the Congress Center of Sechenov University (Moscow). The Congress brought together representatives of the scientific community, pharmaceutical industry, regulatory authorities, and expert organizations.
A particularly significant event was participation in the II Youth League “Development and Registration of Medicinal Products - New Horizons of Pharmaceutical Science and Practice”, which featured scientific presentations by young researchers devoted to modern approaches to drug development and evaluation.
A.N. Karabayeva delivered a presentation entitled:
“In-silico Assessment of the Therapeutic Potential of Promising Medicinal Plants of Southern Kazakhstan”.

The study presented the results of molecular modeling of interactions between biologically active compounds of Mausolea eriocarpa and Bryonia alba (gallic acid, quercetin, hirsutrin, cucurbitacin I) and key protein targets associated with inflammatory, metabolic, and oncological diseases.
The obtained findings confirm the potential of medicinal plants of Southern Kazakhstan as promising sources of biologically active compounds for the development of new medicinal products.
Following the II Youth League, A.N. Karabayeva was awarded a special prize and received a certificate granting a free internship at the certified GLP Research Center of LLC “Center of Pharmaceutical Analytics,” which reflects the high scientific level of the presented research.

The academic mobility program contributed to the expansion of professional competencies in pharmaceutical development, regulatory science, and analytical quality control of medicinal products, as well as to the strengthening of international scientific cooperation.
Special gratitude is extended to the team of LLC “Center of Pharmaceutical Analytics,” particularly to General Director I.E. Shokhin and Director of the Research Center T.N. Komarov, for providing the opportunity to undertake academic mobility, as well as for their high-level scientific guidance and professional support.
We also express sincere appreciation to the organizers of the XIX Congress “Development and Registration of Medicinal Products” and to the Rector of SKMA, Zh.S. Seitzhanova, for supporting scientific initiatives and facilitating participation in this large-scale event, which served as a platform for professional dialogue between representatives of science and industry.
