Dental health is an important part of overall body health. The condition of the oral cavity directly affects a person’s digestive system, speech, and appearance. Therefore, dental care is important not only from an aesthetic perspective but also from a medical point of view. To have strong, white, and straight teeth, oral care should begin from childhood.
Within the framework of the “Healthy University” program, students of the ВМ-СҚБ-02-23 group from the Department of Hygiene and Epidemiology conducted a practical session during their independent study class in the discipline “General Hygiene.” They aimed to combine theoretical knowledge with practice by teaching 2nd-grade students of the “Nurtas” intellectual secondary school about oral hygiene, dental care, and proper tooth-brushing techniques.
Additionally, the children were informed about the impact of proper nutrition on dental health. It was explained that excessive consumption of sugar and overly sweet foods can lead to tooth decay, while calcium-rich foods (milk, cheese, kefir) help strengthen teeth.
Regular visits to the dentist are an important part of preventing oral diseases. It was emphasized that having check-ups at least twice a year helps detect dental problems at an early stage.
