The academy’s students became the champions of the “Senat Open – 2026” Cup

On February 14, 2026, the 1/8 stage of the Senate Cup – Shymkent City Championship in Rapid Chess among medical students, healthcare system employees, and pharmaceutical company staff was held.
The competition was organized with the aim of promoting and popularizing chess as a tool for intellectual development among the residents of Shymkent, improving the level of sports training of healthcare workers and pharmaceutical company employees, and identifying the strongest players to participate in the ¼ final of the 2026 Senate Cup.
Athletes from the South Kazakhstan Medical Academy also took part in the competition. The winners were awarded cash prizes and awards from the Republican Public Association Kazakhstan Chess Federation. Participants who placed first through fifth received cash prizes and certificates.
