The «AIDS Stop» health hour

On December 1, in honor of World AIDS Day, senior lecturer of the Department of Kazakh, Russian and Latin languages A. S. Zhakipova, 1st year students of the Faculty of Dentistry, took part in the «AIDS stop» health hour at the city Youth library.  The main guest of the event, Ibadullayeva Dilnaz Atabekovna, a teacher at the Center for the Prevention and Control of «AIDS» of the Shymkent city Health Department, gave special lectures on the prevention and control of AIDS, spoke in detail about the biological nature of HIV, the mechanism of its penetration into the human body, and the effects on the immune system.  PCR tests were explained, their accuracy and application options were discussed . The students were also presented with statistical data on the epidemiological situation in Kazakhstan and the dynamics of the spread among risk groups. All participants were given brochures and flyers. At the end of the meeting, the young people asked their topical questions, exchanged opinions and drew conclusions about the importance of health protection.
