Every year on May 12, International Nurses Day is celebrated around the world. This day is dedicated to honoring nurses who work tirelessly to protect and improve people’s health. A nurse is not only a healthcare professional, but also a person who gives hope to patients and serves as an example of compassion and care. The department celebrated this holiday on May 19, 2026. The event was attended by the department staff, students majoring in Nursing, and employees of Station No. 4 of the Municipal State Enterprise “Emergency Medical Service Station” under the Health Department of Shymkent.
The Head of the Department, Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor A.A. Seidakhmetova, delivered a congratulatory speech. She emphasized that the nursing profession requires great responsibility, patience, and a special attitude toward people. A nurse not only follows the physician’s instructions, but also supports patients emotionally, offers kind words, and inspires confidence - all of which are essential parts of nursing care. Therefore, this profession holds a special place of respect in society.
International Nurses Day is celebrated in honor of the birthday of the famous English nurse Florence Nightingale, who is recognized as one of the founders of modern nursing. Her dedication to saving human lives made a tremendous contribution to the development of world medicine.
On the occasion of this holiday, we sincerely wish all nurses good health, family happiness, professional success, and the respect of society. Your work, filled with kindness and compassion, is a great contribution to preserving human life. Happy International Nurses Day!
