The Department of Topographic Anatomy and Histology at the South Kazakhstan Medical Academy is buzzing with activity. Third-year students from group VM-MQA-05-23, under the expert guidance of lecturer D.A. Murzanova, are taking their first confident steps into the world of major surgery.
The Foundation of Medical Mastery
Topographic anatomy is more than just an academic discipline; it is the "map" of the human body, essential for every surgeon. We believe that the foundation of a successful surgery is laid here, in the classroom, where students learn to feel the tissues, understand layered structures, and refine every movement to perfection.

From Bio-models to Real Practice
Practical sessions are the heart of our curriculum. To prepare their hands for future challenges, students use innovative methods for the attestation of practical skills (APS):
• Jewelry-like Precision: Using bio-models (bananas and tomatoes) allows for the perfect simulation of working with delicate human tissues.
• Mastery of Instruments: Needle holders, scalpels, and surgical sutures are transformed from mere tools into life-saving instruments in the hands of our students.
• Discipline and Willpower: Every suture placed is a victory over oneself and another step toward professional excellence.
"Surgery begins not in the operating room, but in the heart of one who is ready to learn. Observing the dedication of group VM-MQA-05-23, we see the future of our medicine—doctors for whom precision, responsibility, and continuous improvement are core life principles. At SKMA, we create an environment where theory comes to life, and every student gains confidence in their abilities." says lecturer D.A. Murzanova.
