The Harmful Effects of Narcotic Substances on Human Life Were Discussed

A meeting aimed at raising awareness about the harmful effects of HIV/AIDS and drug addiction was held at the South Kazakhstan Medical Academy, organized by the Youth Policy Department. The meeting was attended by Zhansaya Amanbayeva, a specialist of the Youth Resource Center under the city Department of Internal Policy and Youth Affairs; Senior Operative Officer of the Anti-Drug Crime Unit of the City Police Department, Police Major Yerdaulyet Sadykov; member of the Prevention Council of the City Police Department, lawyer Yevgeny Anatolyevich Yavorsky; highly qualified psychiatrist-narcologist of the Mental Health Center, Meruert Odaman; and specialist of the City Center for AIDS Prevention and Control under the Department of Health, Dilnavaz Atabekkyzy. During the meeting, participants were informed about HIV/AIDS, its dangers, modes of transmission, and preventive measures, as well as the harmful impact of drug use on human life. Representatives of law enforcement agencies also explained the legal consequences for drug trafficking. At the end of the meeting, students asked questions and received detailed answers from the specialists.
