
Today, the South Kazakhstan Medical Academy hosted the II International Conference of Young Scientists and Students dedicated to World AIDS Day “World AIDS Day: Science, Prevention and Collaboration.” The conference brought together undergraduate students, master’s students, and doctoral candidates from medical universities across various regions of Kazakhstan and abroad, who joined the event via the ZOOM platform. Welcoming remarks were delivered by Nurlan Erdenuly Aukenov, Vice-Rector for Scientific and Strategic Development;
Erbol Kaltursynuly Salim, Vice-Rector for Educational Work and Social Affairs; and Professor Bibigul Tolegenkyzy Seitkhanova, Head of the Department of Microbiology, Allergology and Immunology, who wished the participants productive and successful work. Fatima Tynyshtykbaevna Abdieva, an epidemiologist from the AIDS Prevention and Control Center, provided comprehensive information about the symptoms of HIV infection and preventive measures. During the sectional sessions, participants discussed current scientific research on HIV/AIDS and presented evidence-based proposals aimed at improving prevention strategies.

Based on the results of the conference, the following participants were awarded diplomas:
1st Degree Diploma: Elnura Nurlankyzy Mukhambetiyarova, student of the West Kazakhstan Medical University named after Marat Ospanov;
2nd Degree Diploma: Sabina Bakhtiyarkyzy Rakhimbayeva, student of Kimyo Tashkent International University;
3rd Degree Diploma: Bekasyl Abdizhappar, 4th-year student of the South Kazakhstan Medical Academy, and Sarvarhon Ilyoskhonovich Mutalibkhonov, student of the Urgench State Medical Institute.
In addition,Merey Zhanasbaykyzy Zhanasbay, a 5th-year student of the South Kazakhstan Medical Academy, received the award “Best Presentation,”
– and Akmerey Sagat, a 3rd-year student, was recognized as “Best Speaker.”
The conference contributed to enhancing the scientific potential of young researchers, promoting knowledge exchange, and strengthening international collaboration.
The event was organized by the Department of Microbiology, Allergology and Immunology of the South Kazakhstan Medical Academy.
