Under the guidance of the teaching staff of the Department of Family Medicine, medical interns of group IЖTDҚ 26-24 organized a lecture for 10–11 grade students of Secondary School No. 31 on the topic “First Aid” under the slogan “Timely assistance saves lives.”
In today’s world, human safety is one of the most important issues. The ability to act correctly in emergency situations is the responsibility of every individual. Therefore, teaching school students first aid skills is highly relevant. This knowledge can play a crucial role in saving lives.
First aid is the immediate assistance given to an injured or suddenly ill person before medical professionals arrive. Its main goal is to preserve life, stabilize the condition of the victim, and prevent complications.
During the lecture, the basic principles of first aid were explained. A distinctive feature of the lecture was that it was not limited to theory but also included practical training. Students practiced first aid techniques using special mannequins. In particular, they performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), artificial respiration, bandaging, and wound care. This hands-on experience not only increased students’ interest but also helped them better understand and retain the material.

During the practical session, each student received individual attention, and their mistakes were corrected. This approach helps build confidence and teaches proper actions in emergency situations.
In addition, feedback was organized at the end of the lecture. Students shared their impressions, expressed their opinions, and asked questions. This made it possible to assess their understanding of the topic and provide additional explanations if needed. Active participants were awarded small gifts, which further increased their motivation and engagement.
Providing first aid is an essential skill that everyone should possess. This knowledge helps people make the right decisions in emergency situations and save lives. Combining theoretical and practical training is an effective way to teach school students. We believe that in the future, each of them will be able to apply this knowledge in real life.
