
Today, a delegation from the Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan (KISS) paid a working visit to the South Kazakhstan Medical Academy. As part of the visit, a meeting was held to discuss the prospects for the development of the South Kazakhstan Pharmaceutical Cluster. The participants discussed further strengthening cooperation among science, education, medicine, industry, business and government institutions in the pharmaceutical sector.
The delegation included Zhanar Muratovna Gabdullina, Deputy Chairperson of the Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Economic Policy; Bibigul Serikovna Omirbayeva, Head of the Department of Global Economy and Sustainable Development at KISS; Anna Alekseevna Alshanskaya, Head of the Department for Economic Policy Analysis at KISS; and Zhanna Serikovna Baitemirova, Head of the Directorate of JSC “QazIndustry” Kazakhstan Industry and Export Center.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the pharmaceutical industry, government agencies, science, education, healthcare and business. Among them were Aslan Kynayatovich Kynayatov, Director of the Department for the Development of the Pharmaceutical and Medical Industry; Ermek Polatovich Turmanov, Head of the Department of Entrepreneurship and Industrial and Innovative Development of Shymkent; as well as representatives of the Chamber of Entrepreneurs of Shymkent.
The meeting was also attended online by Marat Yedigevich Shoranov, Chairman of the Board – Rector of S.D. Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University, and Almas Toregeldiyevich Sharmanov, President of the Kazakh Academy of Nutrition.
Zhanna Serikzhanovna Seitjanova, Rector of South Kazakhstan Medical Academy, welcomed the participants and expressed her gratitude for their participation, support for joint initiatives and interest in the further development of the South Kazakhstan Pharmaceutical Cluster. The Rector also emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation among science, education, healthcare, industry, business and government institutions in developing Kazakhstan’s domestic pharmaceutical sector.
Today, the South Kazakhstan Pharmaceutical Cluster is developing as an important platform that brings together science, education, healthcare, industry and business. One of the cluster’s key objectives is to combine the potential of its participants, strengthen the connection between scientific research and production, promote domestic pharmaceutical products and create conditions for their practical implementation.
South Kazakhstan Medical Academy plays an important role in developing the scientific and educational component of the cluster. The Academy’s scientific potential, qualified specialists and research infrastructure provide opportunities to implement pharmaceutical research projects, develop new pharmaceutical products, train qualified specialists and introduce research results into industrial production.
During the meeting, the participants discussed the current activities and development prospects of the South Kazakhstan Pharmaceutical Cluster, strengthening cooperation among its participants, the role of SKMA as a scientific and educational center, as well as further integration of science, education, healthcare, industry and business.
The participants exchanged views on promising areas for increasing the potential of domestic pharmaceutical production, introducing scientific developments into manufacturing, improving research and production infrastructure, strengthening human resources, and implementing joint research and innovation projects within the cluster.
Following the meeting, the participants emphasized the importance of combining the efforts of government agencies, research and educational institutions, medical organizations, pharmaceutical companies and business representatives to further develop the South Kazakhstan Pharmaceutical Cluster.
After the meeting, the delegation members visited several leading manufacturing and clinical organizations participating in the South Kazakhstan Pharmaceutical Cluster, where they familiarized themselves with their activities, production facilities and clinical capabilities.
