Within the framework of the “EduCampShym” project, students got acquainted with the work of JSC “South Kazakhstan Medical Academy”

More than 50 students from schools №103, 105, 138, 145, 143, 141, 131, 144, 132, and 137 of the city visited the South Kazakhstan Medical Academy, where they became familiar with the daily activities of the institution. It should be noted that in the 2023 State of the Nation Address to the people of Kazakhstan, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev placed special emphasis on the effective organization of children and adolescents’ leisure time, creating conditions for their comprehensive development, and career guidance. In this regard, the “EduCampShym” project was launched on the initiative of the City Youth Policy Department, providing 9th–10th grade students from city schools with an opportunity to explore the activities of higher education institutions and receive detailed information about future professions. 

As part of the project, students visiting SKMA first toured the university museum and then the library. They also became acquainted with the academy’s material and technical base, modern laboratories, and classrooms. Practical sessions and workshops were organized for the students, where they were introduced to the specifics of medical professions. Such meetings help shape adolescents’ career orientation, support informed decision-making in choosing a profession, and contribute to better planning of their future.
