“To become a leader in preparing competitive, highly qualified specialists in the field of pharmacy.”

The microqualification program is aimed at developing professional communication competencies essential for effective pharmaceutical practice and teamwork in modern healthcare settings.

 

2. Purpose of the Microqualification Educational Program

To prepare competitive pharmacy professionals capable of meeting the demands of the contemporary healthcare and pharmaceutical market through the acquisition of in-depth theoretical knowledge and practical skills in interpersonal communication, relationship building, feedback techniques, multicultural interaction, conflict resolution, and stress management for effective professional practice.

 

3. Objectives of the Microqualification Educational Program

  • - To develop professional communication skills;
  • - To improve the effectiveness of interaction within academic and professional environments;
  • - To foster a culture of constructive feedback and collaboration;
  • - To prevent and manage conflicts and occupational stress within teams.

 

4. Rationale for the Educational Program

The development of this microqualification program aimed at strengthening and enhancing communication competencies among learners was driven by the needs of both employers and students. The demand for communication competence among pharmaceutical professionals was identified through a research study conducted at South Kazakhstan Medical Academy and pharmaceutical organizations within the region during September–October 2025.

The practical application of the knowledge, skills, and competencies acquired through this communication skills microqualification will contribute to improving the professional, ethical, and psychological standards of modern pharmacists, enhancing the quality of pharmaceutical care provided to the population, and increasing the competitiveness of pharmaceutical organizations and enterprises within the region.

Intended Learning Outcomes:

LO1

Demonstrates knowledge of the objectives and fundamental principles of interpersonal communication and communication processes and develops communicative competence required for successful professional practice within the pharmaceutical sector of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

LO2

Applies professional approaches to establishing rapport as a key and determining stage of the communication process and effectively utilizes feedback techniques to support professional communication in accordance with the legislative and regulatory framework of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

LO3

Applies patient-centered communication approaches based on individual characteristics, age, and disease conditions while adhering to the principles of intercultural communication, demonstrating multicultural awareness, openness, and professionalism. Participates in intercultural projects, internships, and international exchange programs with foreign universities, developing effective and adaptive communication skills in a global context.

Effectively manages conflict situations and occupational stress, which are essential competencies for modern healthcare leaders.
