“Pedagogical Ethics: Requirements of the New Era.”

At the South Kazakhstan Medical Academy, a meeting was held under the initiative of the pedagogical department on the topic “Pedagogical Ethics: Requirements of the New Era.” This meaningful and insightful gathering served as a platform for discussing pressing issues in the field of education and upbringing.
During the meeting, the Vice-Rector for Educational Work and Social Affairs, Yerbol Salim, discussed common challenges faced in today’s pedagogical environment, drawing on international experiences. According to him, the Zoomer generation, which has grown up closely connected with information technologies, is reshaping the traditional relationship between teachers and students.
— At Harvard University, the oldest academic institution in the U.S., negative trends have recently emerged, such as students boycotting professors and socially isolating them on social media — all driven by the activism of Zoomers. Similar phenomena are now being observed in some Kazakhstani universities. The recent controversial “Magnum” incident is also a reflection of the mindset and behavior of this new generation, — noted Yerbol Kaltursynuly.
He emphasized the importance of developing and systematically fostering corporate culture in educational institutions to prevent such issues. In this regard, the role of the academy’s psychological service is particularly significant.
The seminar covered a wide range of topics, including professional ethics of educators, appearance and dress code, mutual respect within the team, corporate ethics, and education based on national values. A particularly thought-provoking presentation was delivered by Bakytgul Kalmagambetova, Head of the Psychological Service. She highlighted that adherence to moral and ethical norms in educational institutions plays a decisive role in the upbringing of future generations.
— Times may change, but the essence of a teacher — their moral image and professional ethics — remains one of the highest ideals in society. Today, an educator is not just a knowledge provider, but a spiritual guide and personality shaper, — she said.
The depth of the seminar’s content and the issues raised demonstrated that the event held not only theoretical but also practical significance. Such gatherings encourage the professional growth of educators and help elevate the status of teachers to a new qualitative level in society.
